Level I Analysis

  • Title explained.
  • Time signature explained.
  • All notes and rests identified (crotchet, quaver etc.).
  • All signs and terms (including basic signs and terms) explained.
  • Key identified.
  • Brief background information on the composer.

Suitable for:

  • Age: 8 and above (younger students with guidance from a parent or teacher).
  • School: primary/elementary.
  • Australian/British music examination level: elementary, initial, preliminary, grade 1.

Level II Analysis

Level V Analysis

As for Level IV, with more detail about the composer and style, and a more detailed structural analysis. Important harmonic features (cadences, pedal points, special chords) are identified. The product does not contain a full chordal analysis or a Schenkerian deep structural analysis. British terminology is used.
